Two New Additions!

Okay. So I don’t know about you, but I’m super excited about the Moon Phase Calendar and the Planetary Positions Table on the right! WOO-HOO! Now we have a reference point for charting the Cosmos! Also, if you click on the “explanations of the symbols” on the Current Planets Chart, it takes you to a link that presents Liz Greene’s take on the Astrological Signs! GREAT.

Special SHOUT OUTS to the creator of the Moon Phase Calendar and to Astrodienst for providing these tools for free! THANK YOU!! Click on the links to get yours now:)

Astrodienst is also a great resource for calculating your natal chart. However, if you’re still new to Astrology, I suggest staying with astrology3d.com (see how to access below) for now. Everything is laid out on one page, which makes it easy to study and reference both your chart drawing and the information it represents! I’ll talk about how to use Atrodienst in a future entry... one thing at a time!

Wishing you helpful tools on the road to self-discovery!

HAPPY NEW MOON IN AQUARIUS!

New Moons present opportunities for fresh starts, to begin new goals/projects/ideas, to set intentions for what you want, to make wishes for experiences you’d like to have and plant seeds to bloom on Full Moons. New Moons are all about starting new cycles whereas Full Moons are about completing cycles- easy, huh? We will see some of these Aquarian New Moon seeds that we plant through Monday bloom on the Pisces Full Moon on February 28, 2010.

There are a lot of fun things you can do to help set intentions on a New Moon like; visualization exercises (see yourself doing it), writing lists (tell your-Self and the Uni-Verse what you want) or collage (cut out images from magazines and paste them together to help your-Self and the Uni-Verse see what you want)- and these are just a few examples. We’re all different, so experiment to find the right method of manifestation for you! And, if I didn’t list it, please share!

Once you decide on your New Moon methodology (I like Jan Spiller’s suggestion of writing lists of 10), we need to understand the cycle, or flow of energy we are in. So this New Moon is in Aquarius. Aquarius, the Water Bearer is an AIR sign and holds down the 11th house. Aquarius is all about bringing ideas to Hue-manity. The Aquarian mantra is: “I awaken you to the future”.

Therefore, this is a GREAT time to set intentions that involve making life goals and dreams come true! Woo-hoo! According to Jan Spiller, “things you may have wanted to happen in your life for a long time can begin easily manifesting through using the boost of this friendly and intelligent New Moon”.

Aquarius is also the sign of the brotherhood of man, so it’s also an excellent time for beginning new friendships, improving existing ones, cutting old/outworn ties and developing a friendlier attitude toward others.

On that note, I will be setting my intentions toward manifesting my career (a big, long-term goal), co-creating harmoniously with my community through a non-profit we started (short and long term goal), and committing to writing more (short term goal)... especially this blog!

I really hope this has helped you gain perspective on how the New Moon effects you and how to work with its Energy. If you’d like a more in-depth look at the Aquarius New Moon I suggest reading the following articles:

Blessings on your Aquarian New Moon travels!

WE INTERRUPT THIS PROGRAM...

I know that a lot of people know a little bit about Astrology so I want to try to fill in the gaps about HOW we can learn about ourselves while working with current Astrological trends. In a future blog we will discuss more about the significance of the Moon in the chart, but for today’s blog, we will focus solely on the New Moon event we are experiencing February 13-14 2010.

Thank you for going with The Flow!

My Bad: Astrology3d.com Rules!

Yesterday, I went back to www. Astrology3d.com on a whim with a friend, and it worked! I guess that’s what I get for starting a blog during Mercury Retrograde;) My apologies to Astrology3d.com! I HEART this site the most!!!

It’s a tad tricky, so here’s what to do if you want an awesome, free more-than-basic birth chart. First, you’ll need to know your birth place and time. Time is REALLY essential because Rising signs (or Ascendants) change every two hours. Also, when you get more into reading your chart, you’ll see how the degrees have significance (more on that soon).

Now, what to do:

1) Go to http://www.astrology3d.com
2) Drag your cursor over the upper right hexagon, and click on: “Astro Report”s (the name on the hexagon appears in the center hexagon.
3) Click on “Birth”
4) Scroll the first drop down box to: “Sample Version of Report $0”.
5) Choose your preferred language.
6) Last drop down box: “With Labels”.
7) Click “Submit”.
8) Enter your e-mail address (Yes, they send you a copy!).
9) Input your birth information.
10) Double check that all of your info is correct and submit.

VOILA!

You now have a bona fide birth (natal) chart that you can study... forever!
I have to say (AGAIN), the first time I did this chart I read some parts and thought: “No way. That’s not me at all.” However, years later, I realized those were things I wasn’t ready to see back then;) So, I suggest, HAVE FUN and read it with an open mind... there’s so much potential for self-discovery!
ENJOY and PLEASE let me know what you think!
Best wishes on the trail of self-exploration!

Some Thoughts on Tarot

First of all, I use the term “Tarot” to signify the use of any deck of cards as a tool to connect with the Higher Octaves for self-awareness training. I had my first tarot card reading about 18 years ago, and have been consulting the cards, through different vehicles, every since. I love using cards to help me gain a better perspective on my mOMent. My personal favorites include:

The Mayan Oracle: The Return Path to the Stars by Ariel Spilsbury & Michael Bryner

Medicine Cards: The Discovery of Power Through the Ways of Animals by Jamie Sams & David Carson

The Faeries’ Oracle
by Brian Froud & Jessica Macbeth

Rider-Waite Tarot
by Arthur Edward Waite

I use these decks for different purposes, and often combine them for larger perspective readings. If I do this, I will usually do a 12-card spread with all four decks. The three columns across represent: Past, Present and Future. The four rows down (from top to bottom) represent the Spiritual, Mental, Emotional and Physical energies working in my world: I use the Mayan Oracle to communicate the Spiritual Energy, Medicine Cards to communicate the Mental Energy, The Faeries’ Oracle to communicate the Emotional Energy and the Rider-Waite Tarot to communicate the Physical Energies.

I know some Readers advise against reading for the self, but I believe that if you can be unattached and open to the answer, you can read for yourself. If you’re in a “mood”, DON’T DO IT! You’ll only be wasting you’re time. Believe me, I’ve given myself enough readings to know when my Energy is influencing the cards for an outcome. For example, if “I know I’ll pull the whale card” which is the Record Keeper, and I do, I probably already I know I have a record keeping issue, and just feel like torturing myself for kicks;)

As for getting readings from Randoms, I say: FOLLOW YOUR INTUITION. I honestly can’t say I’ve had a crappy reading in the 18 years since I had my first reading- both professionally or by friends. For me, the one golden rule of tarot is: Translation.

Being that I got my undergrad degree in Spanish Lit, and that I am a Gemini, it is hard for me to digress from this issue. I always tell people that we all have our own personal sacred language with the One that includes one, all, or a combination of clairsentience, clairaudience and clairvoyance. If you’re not sure what these terms mean, here are some crude definitions:
http://www.spiritual.com.au/articles/psychics_mediums/defclairvoyance_gfallon.htm

However, I highly recommend Doreen Virtue’s Divine Guidance to explore these concepts at their basic level.

Anyway, Tarot Readers do their best to take the messages they receive and translate from Senora Tarot Reader’s language to **starwoman215’s** language, and we may not have the same meaning attached to an image, feeling, sound etc. For example, she might receive a message about “peanuts” and think it means a small amount, while for me it’s “The Peanuts” as in Charlie Brown. Therefore, I believe it is essential to know your sacred language and how it works!! Otherwise, you might spend a lot of time focusing on a misinterpreted piece of information.

Capiche?

So... if you don’t have access to any physical decks, I’m pretty sure some of the links above allow you to do a one card spread. However, I recently encountered a GREAT online divination site: www.toddhershey.com. You can do a quick one-card reading—from a choice of 4 decks—and the cards are BEAUTIFUL. I actually had a chance to try a 10-card spread, and it was super-awesome-o;)

I hope this information is... well, informative!
Keep the inner PEACE & LOVE alive and kickin! No one can take that from you;)

Astrologyzone: A Forgotten Gem

Greetings Inner-Galactic Funkateers!
Okay. So, I have to say that I completely forgot about Susan Miller’s AstrologyZone. I used to follow her years ago~ but felt like she was turning too corporate, or mainstream or something~ I can’t quite remember why I stopped following her about 6 or 7 years ago, but a friend recently reminded me of her great monthly forecasts, so I decided to take another gander.
Obviously, it panned out well, or I wouldn’t be suggesting you all go to this link:
